The FX channel is an American pay TV channel that was founded by 21st Century Fox. Standing for Fox Extended, the channel and it’s sister channels, it aspires to bring high quality programming in the comedy and drama categories. FX is available to US residents with a cable or satellite subscription. If that is you, all you have to do is go to the website and login with your credentials. If you are traveling, don’t have a subscription, or live outside of the US, you would need a VPN.
Best VPN to Watch FX Outside the US
Streaming Services with FX Channel
Let’s take a look at a few different options to watch the FX channel online. There is not an over the top (OTT) service specifically for the channel, so you need to have a subscription and be located in the US. Fortunately, there are two OTT services where you can find the channel if you don’t meet those criteria. Sling TV and FuboTV both include it in their packages. You can also look to Playstation Vue or DirecTV Now. That is where using a VPN would be helpful. If you haven’t tried Sling TV yet then you can sign up for a 7 day free trial. Just make sure you connect to a VPN server in the US if you are currently outside the country. Otherwise you will not be able to sign up or use the service from many regions.
If you have not signed up for the services yet, you will want to connect to a US server with a VPN. Then, you would need to stay connected or reconnect to watch it. We suggest using either SlingTV or FuboTV. That is because if you are not already a TV subscriber, the cost is very reasonable. When you compare the cost of the other services to the channels offered, it makes sense to try them out. There may be more services that offer this channel, but we feel these are the best options.
Popular FX Shows
Started in 1994, the FX channel started out as a basic cable and satellite offering. It became one of the first forays in to large scale interactive TV. It was not until 2002 that FX became known for it’s original content in the form of edgy dramas. Since then, the channel has taken risks by pushing the envelope of what can be shown on cable TV. Ratings like TV-MA have been assigned for strong profanity, sexual themes, and violence. Some of the most popular FX shows of all time include Sons of Anarchy, Justified, The Shield, The Americans, and the hilarious It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. You’be gotta love the whole cast and especially Danny DeVito in later seasons. Our favorite FX show of all time has to be The League. While it’s definitely not appropriate for kids, the show will have you rolling on the floor laughing. As long as you don’t mind crude comedy.
