Big Brother is a TV reality show that was first shown in 1999 in the Netherlands. CBS bought the rights to the show in early 2000 and has held them in the US ever since. Since then, the show has turned into an international franchise with more than 54 different versions. Based on a book called 1984 by George Orwell, the premise of the show is to isolate a group of people known as “HouseGuests” from the outside world and use cameras to watch and record everything that happens in the house.
