The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) located in Austin, Texas, was opened in 2012. Of course, it has the modern conveniences that many race fans want and love. In 2010, the famous course designer, Hermann Tilke, designed the Circuit of the Americas as well. Promoters said it would be one of the most challenging and spectacular in the world.

Not surprisingly, Lewis Hamilton is the defending champion of the United States Grand Prix. Though he had a bit of a rough start this year, Hamilton is a very skilled driver. Despite only winning one race, Hamilton managed to overtake his competitor Sebastian Vettel by the fourth race. Vettel won the first 2 races. It will be definitely interesting to see how the season goes.

Hamilton carries on a long tradition of British race car drivers. They have been a force in the racing community for quite some time. In fact, they are one of the only groups to get a shade of a color named in their honor (British Racing Green). Now, Hamilton is the torchbearer in the Formula 1 world. Let’s have a look at the other races this year.

In the end, the Mecedes-Benz team will likely come out on top this year. Whether it is Hamilton dominating the season or his teammate Valtteri Bottas, both racers have done well this season and should continue to do so. No matter which one of these racers win, Mercedes gets some great press. The people of the world get to watch a race car driver that has the potential of being the best racer in history. Only time will tell if he will continue this trend in this race, or the future races. Watching Hamilton race is watching a piece of automotive history.
