The Presidents Cup golf tournament is a series of matches that is held every two years between the US and an international team excluding Europe. That is because the Ryder Cup is exclusive to Europe and the US. This year, the matches will be held at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea, in the city of Song-Do, South Korea making this the first time the cup has ever been held in an Asian country. They will begin on Wednesday, October 7th and run until Monday, October 12th. If you are in the US, coverage will be on NBC and NBC Golf. If you are outside the US, you would need a VPN.

Beginning in 1994, the Presidents Cup is a relatively new event organized by the Professional Golf Association. The honorary chairman of the cup is always the president or prime minister of the country where the events are being played. The timing of this cup was delayed a year by the Patriot Day attacks in the US in 2001, so it is played in odd-numbered years. The US has won 8 of the 10 cups, with the last one being in Dublin, Ohio in 2013.
The way this event is scored is through match play. Like the Ryder Cup, it is made up of 12 players per side, plus a highly respected, non-playing captain. Unlike the Ryder Cup, all 12 players must play foursome and fourball matches on the first two days and two players will sit out each session of Saturday matches. Singles matches are played on the last day.
Despite the exclusion of some of the top European players, many of our favorites will be participating in this cup. Though the specific teams have not been set yet, for the US team we have some very notable names like Dustin Johnson, Zach Johnson, Bubba Watson, and of course, Jordan Spieth. For the International team, we have familiar players like Jason Day, Louis Oosthuizen, Adam Scott, and Hideki Matsuyama. Jordan Speith is still one of the most exciting players to watch since Tiger Woods, so the question is, will the US be able to keep their dominance in this cup? Tune in to find out.

If you are outside of the US for any reason, you would need a VPN. Otherwise, you would receive a message like this. “Due to broadcasting regulations, NBC is only allowed to show NBC Sports content on the internet in the United States and U.S.” Since NBC does not offer a OTT streaming service, you would need a subscription to a host as well.
