Named after the mythical flying horse of the same name, the Pegasus World Cup is a really new horse race. It was first proposed by Frank Stronach in January 2016 during the Thoroughbred Owners Conference. The inaugural race was run on January 28th, 2017. The timing for this event was made to coincide with a lull in the community so it would not interfere with the Breeders’ Cup or the Dubai World Cup.
Due to the location and the purse of this race, watching the event live at the track and enjoying the concert at the LIV nightclub in Miami will cost you $1000. Rapper Ludacris will be the headliner at the concert. Though that might be fun with the party atmosphere, most of us will need to watch it or stream it on TV.
NBC will be televising the Pegasus World Cup on Saturday. That means if you are not able to watch it on TV, you can watch it online through the NBC Sports Live Extra site. For those that will not be in the US during the race, you would need to use a VPN and login to your cable or satellite subscription. Otherwise, NBC will block access to the stream based on the location of your IP address. A VPN will assist you with that issue by assigning you an IP address in the United States.
On race day itself, the undercard action starts at 11:30 AM with seven races on several betting sites. The Live broadcast of the Pegasus World Cup Invitational begins at 4:30 PM and finishes at 6 PM on NBC.
