The Pacific Games are multi-sport events that are considered to be the mini Olympics for countries in the Pacific Ocean. They are held every four years, and the first meeting in 1963 took place in Fiji. This year, The 2019 games will be held from July 7th – 20th in Apia, the capital of Samoa. In 2003, the games saw a full compliment of 32 different events. Whereas the normal field of countries competing in the games is 22, this year the competition will include New Zealand and Australia.
