Generally when countries host the Olympics, they make money. That said, the Pacific Games have been known to have the opposite effect and sometimes leave the host country in debt because of infrastructure investments. Through a premium TV contract with Click Pacific Limited, PNG hopes to stem the tide and make this a profitable venture. Click will offer coverage in HD for up to 24 hours a day. The lead broadcaster with exclusive opening and closing ceremony rights however, will be EMTV. They are a free channel that will broadcast the games at the same time as Click Pacific Limited. EMTV plans to stream the games through the internet and with the app. These games will be blocked outside of the islands, so to view coverage, you would need a to use a VPN service.
