Ever since the first college basketball game in 1896, the sport has been a part of the American psyche. Though it was not formed for 10 years afterward, the organization that governs college basketball is the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). These days, NCAA Basketball is enjoyed all over the world, especially by US expats. If you live in the US and have access to ESPN or CBS, you can stream them online. If you live outside of the US, or you are traveling abroad, you would also need to use a VPN.

Every basketball season, there are different teams that will be strong competitors in the NCAA tournament referred to as March Madness. Given that, upsets can happen at any time, and you will see what is known as a Cinderella team. That is the term for a team that wins when it is not predicted that they will. In addition to those teams, you have teams that are consistently good. They are often called dynasty teams.
There are two factors that make a dynasty team what it is. The first factor goes to recruiting. A good recruit can easily change the course of a game by scoring points, getting rebounds, or stealing the ball. Of course, without a good coach, the best recruits do not matter. There are only a few legendary coaches in college basketball, including a female basketball coach. Sadly, there is only one coach remaining that still coaches. That would be none other than the legendary Duke head coach, Mike Krzyzewski, also known as coach K.
As of the beginning of 2015, coach K became the winningest coach in basketball history with a staggering 1000 wins. He also holds and equally impressive record as the coach of the USA men’s Olympic team. In a career that has lasted more than 40 years, coach K admits he will retire sooner than later, but he does not anticipate it being too soon. Now that we have spoken about some of the history of NCAA Basketball, let’s discuss how you are able to watch it outside of the US.
If you are from the US and are traveling overseas, you would need to use a VPN. That is because even though you have access, games for ESPN or CBS are blocked outside of the US. If you are an expat, don’t have a cable or satellite service, or just someone that enjoys basketball, you can sign up for Sling TV. Again, Sling TV or CBS All Access are only available stateside, unless you signed up for them by using a VPN. If you do, you may watch as much basketball as you wish. If you haven’t tried Sling TV yet then you can sign up for a 7 day free trial.
