24 Hours of Le Mans is always held Circuit de la Sarthe, located in Le Mans, Maine, France. The course is semi-permanent and it is primarily known for this race. The race is comprised of private, race-specific sections of track in addition to public roads that are accessible most of the year. Its present configuration is 8.467 mi (13.626 km) long, making it one of the longest circuits in the world.

If you are a fan of this race, you know that the last several years has been a 3-way battle between Porsche, Audi, and Toyota teams. The #2 Porsche 919 Hybrid vehicle won the flagship prototype class (known as LMP1) for last 3 years in a row. This year will be a bit different, though. Only Toyota is left and they have the only two hybrid cars in the race. However, Formula One fans will recognize the name of one of the Toyota drivers, Fernando Alonso. He is currently ranked in the top 10 of the Formula One series.
