Let’s take a look at the different ways to watch. There are various channels through Europe that carry the league games. However, there are only a few ways to see them if you don’t live there. The UK has it on Sky Sports, and for the US, it is Univision. Most of the rest of the world has coverage on Fox Sports.

Here is the only streaming option we have found so far.

Fubo TV – Rival to Sling TV, this American streaming service offers some different channels but is mostly the same. Unlike Sling, Canadian prices seem to be more cost effective and include a few more channels.

There may be lesser known ones, but they are not as publicized.

The Dutch Football Championship was unusual by modern standards. That is because it was purely an amatuer competition. The Royal Dutch Football Association rejected any form of payment and suspended players that were caught receiving salary or transfer fees. However that changed in the 50s when players would leave in search of financial gain.

Players that left were banned from appearing from the Dutch National Team. When the North Sea flood happened in 1953, Dutch players that were mainly in French football leagues organized a charity event against the French National team. Though it was boycotted by the association, residents got to see the heights that could be reached with pro teams.

A pro league was formed to compete with the amatuer league. In 1956, the two leagues announced a merger and Dutch football was paid from then on. Of the 18 teams, only 6 of them have ever won a Eredivisie title. The title victories are held by Ajax with 25, PSV with 20, Feyenoord with 9, AZ with 2, Sparta Rotterdam and Twente with 1 each. As you can see, there is a lot of dominace by certain teams. If you are a fan of the other teams, you have not had an easy time.

If you are Dutch, just like watching the Eredivisie, or have friends that do, please share this post with them so they can enjoy the games as well. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter @VPNFan for the latest VPN deals.
