Founded in 1999, CinemaNow was a pioneer in the video streaming industry. Through time, the service has gone through some changes including delivering content at one time under the Blockbuster Video brand. However, the move came too late to save the ailing video company. It was also acquired by Best Buy and then the Rovi Corporation.
As of 2016, the company had a staggering 55k movies and TV episodes in it’s library. It is not known if that combines all three libraries, or if that is only the US version. No matter what though, it is not hard to gain access to any or all of them. All you have to do is use a VPN.
If you live outside of the US, UK, or Canada and don’t have an account, you’ll need to connect to a VPN server in one of those three countries to sign up. If you just want to view the other libraries once you have an account, it is as easy as connecting to a server in the country you want and retry it. Why should you have to miss out because you are not in the right area?
Which VPN service you choose depends on your goals. We have a few suggestions that will make things easy. If you only want to make sure you can watch all the content in the US or other libraries, you’ll want to take a look at ExpressVPN. They offer a Smart DNS service that will help you unblock any geo-restrictions that would prevent you from seeing the other markets without the overhead of encryption. If your goal is more security oriented, you’ll want to check out IPVanish. They have a kill switch feature, and they do not keep any activity logs. If you try ExpressVPN, be sure to check that CinemaNow is available for the regions you want to check out.
Both of these options will unblock content and get the job done. We chose them based on speed, functionality, server locations, reliability, and price. Be sure you can easily connect and stream from the US or other libraries before you travel. That way you’ll be ready to enjoy your favorite movies and TV shows while outside the regular viewing area.
