Unlike normal football associations, the Confederation of African Football uses a running 5 year total of CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup totals, with the two highest associations able to enter in 2 different teams. That means in theory, up to 69 teams would be able to enter to the tournament, but that goal has never been achieved. The league was first established in 1964, but many teams were founded before then. The league is currently played in venues all over Africa.

This year, we will have the opportunity to see if the defending champions, TP Mazembe, will be able to exude their dominance again and become the second most successful team. It will also bring them one step closer to becoming the most successful team, a title that is currently held by Al-Ahly. Just like with other leagues, there is no guarantee that TP Mazembe will win. In fact, winners of the tournament have usually been spread out.

For broadcast coverage, there are several channels covering the tournament. However, many of them are regional. If you tried to watch them online without being in the proper area, there is a good chance you would be blocked by geo-restrictions. Because of licensing rights, content may only be shown in designated areas. By using a VPN, you would be able to unblock this tournament, and many other shows or events that are blocked because or geographic borders.

As beIN sports is one of the major channels, you have another option. In the US, there are people that are referred to as cord-cutters. Those are people that do not use major cable company or satellite service, but can still enjoy live content over a provider called Sling TV. Many channels are part of their basic package starting at $20, and for an extra $5 a month US,  you can get beIN sports additionally. Though Sling TV is American based, by using a VPN, you could get around that restriction as well. If you haven’t tried it yet then you can sign up for a 7 day free trial.

For US coverage, you would need to connect to a server located there. If you are going to try using Sling TV, you would use your VPN service to sign up. No matter where you are in the world, you can easily connect and enjoy any game you wish. Let’s discuss how.

Enjoy all the excitement during the 2017 CAF Champions League tournament, and please share this post with your friends so they can enjoy the tournament matches from anywhere in the world with a VPN. Be sure to keep up with us @VPNFan for the best deals and guides.
