The British Grand Prix is a race currently held at the Silverstone Circuit near the village of Silverstone in Northamptonshire in England. Beginning in 1926, the British Grand Prix is one of the oldest ongoing Formula One events. Though this race has not always been held in Silverstone, it has always been held in England. This year, the 2022 British Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, July 3rd at 3 pm BST. That said, if you are actually at the race in person, the gates open at 2 pm on Thursday, June 30th.

If you follow Formula One, you already know that the defending champion of the British Grand Prix is the home country favorite, Lewis Hamilton. This track holds special meaning to the Brit, and he will be tough to beat at Silverstone. Hamilton has been a driving force in the last decade, and for several years has won the championship. However, there are plenty of drivers that will still do their best to keep him honest. Be sure to watch all the action from anywhere with a VPN.
Over the course of time, the British Grand Prix has gone from being just a race to the multi-day event it is now. The local economy sees a boost from the festival mentality with all sorts of things happening on the grounds of the course, not to mention the camping and hotel accommodations. At the prices listed on the website for tickets to the race, it is not hard to see why. The most reasonable three-day ticket prices were listed at £210 and the most expensive being £1350. Mind you, if you can afford it, go for it. There is no doubt it would be a good time. However, with those sorts of prices, most of us are better off watching the race on TV.
If you are in the USA, the race will be on ESPN at 10 am EST on July 18th. For those that want to watch online, because ESPN is a premium channel, you will want to sign up for the ESPN+ streaming service. If you are in Belgium or connect to a VPN server, RTBF will have live TV coverage in French. You can also connect to a server in Austria for the ORF live stream in German.

If you already have access to one of the streaming channels above then you’re all set. Just remember to use a VPN if you plan to be outside the country on the day of the race. Channel 4 is our favorite channel to watch Formula 1 races this year. They have the contract for the F1 races this year and the coverage is top notch.
As we continue to learn about the art of streaming live events, we find that the key is gaining access to the right channel or service. You will need a VPN to get around any geographic restrictions. That is because the website blocks users outside of the region.
