IPVanish

We chose IPVanish for the list because they have very fast VPN servers in the United States and throughout Europe. Their server locations in Australia are also among the fastest in the industry. You will find that IPVanish offers a nice mix of speed and privacy. You can download their app for Windows and Mac. They also have a mobile app for iOS and Android. If you plan to watch sports on your Smart TV via Firestick or an Android box then you will appreciate that IPVanish has a custom app for those devices as well. As well as quite a bit of coverage in North America, IPVanish hosts servers in every continent other than Antarctica. The network produces great speeds in North America and Europe when we perform our speed tests. You will find multiple server locations all over the 3 countries. You can select a location or an individual server from the drop-down menu.

IPVanish hosts a number of servers in the locations we mentioned above and you can choose to connect to any of them. If you see servers that have the letter “a” in the server name, those are the fastest. For example, you would look for one labeled similarly to tor-a01.ipvanish.com. (located in Toronto). In most cases, you will notice that the “a” servers are the fastest. We tested IPVanish servers in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver and found the speeds to be excellent in all three locations. However, you can expect good speeds in other countries as well.

  • IPVanish has a large network of servers all over the world. Select a country in which you want to watch coverage. Some popular choices include US, UK, and Germany.
  • We recommend you select IKEv2, OpenVPN (TCP), OpenVPN (UDP). For streaming videos from sites like YouTube, we use IKEv2 or OpenVPN (UDP) because it’s faster than TCP. They also support PPTP and L2TP. We still recommend OpenVPN UDP for the best mix of speed and privacy protection.
  • After selecting the options, click the square connect button. After a few seconds, you’ll see the green square turn red. There will also be a message letting you know the “VPN is connected”
  • You now have an IP address in the country you want to use, as far as anyone can tell online. As such, you can reach any of the sites or streaming services as if you were sitting in the country you chose. The same would be true if you connected to a server in the UK or anywhere else in the world.
  • Now, you will use the credentials from your cable/satellite/streaming subscription account to log into the website you want to use to watch the games.

It is just that easy to do. Now that you have an IP address from an IPVanish server in the country you chose, you can browse the internet or watch your favorite NHL hockey teams as if you were actually there. The same is true from any country.
