History and schedule for the main event

From a historical standpoint, the Belmont Stakes is another race that shows the love affair with horse racing in the US. Built in 1905, Belmont Park is known as the Championship Track and is considered to be one of the elite courses of horse racing. Though there have been other events held at Belmont Park, the biggest crowd ever was drawn in during the 2004 Belmont Stakes. At 120,139 people there to watch the race live, it would be safe to say that there was standing room only. If there is a Triple Crown contender like there was in 2004, or you wait to get your tickets, you will pay a higher amount.

Ticket prices and sales increase for the Belmont Stakes usually after the Preakness, and this year will be no different. The price of tickets on the secondary market is above $600. The price point will go up as we draw closer to the event because this is the third leg of the famous Triple Crown. If you are planning on going, be sure to bring your wallet.

Bob Baffert, the trainer of American Pharoah, has a horse this year with the potential to be great. If you are not aware, it is a horse named Justify. This will be a good race to watch for sure. This 1.5-mile track has proved troublesome for many horses over the years. Evidence of this is the long dry spells between the Triple Crown winners. Which horse will win the Belmont Stakes? Tune in to find out. At this time, the field of competitors has not been set for this race. However, we will provide an update when one is available.

If you are going to attend the race, you will surely enjoy this historic race. However, most of us will watch it on TV instead. Luckily, NBC will be airing the coverage of this race in the US. If you plan on traveling outside of the US during the broadcast, I would suggest using a VPN. Since NBC’s access is based on IP address, you may be blocked without one.

The race day schedule will be as follows:
