Unlike the US, the British like to make their awards show names more straightforward. That is why you will find the BAFTA TV awards instead of something like the Emmys or the Oscars. Of course, they both serve the same purpose. This year, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) TV version will take place on May 13th, 2018 at an estimated time of 9 PM BST. It will be held at Royal Festival Hall on London’s Southbank. If you live in the UK, you can watch the BAFTA Awards on BBC One or one of several other ways. Like the Emmys, the BAFTA TV awards are among the most prestigious TV awards in the world. The first version was held in 1955. For almost 30 years (1968-1997), the awards show for TV and film were held jointly. It was not until 1998 that the two shows split.
