The Australian Grand Prix is the oldest motorsport competition on the continent. Dating back to 1928, the race has had several locations. Since 1985 however, it has been run on the same course. The course used now is located in Albert Park in Melbourne and is just over 5 KM long.

We mentioned earlier about the new changes last year, so we will talk about them now. In Melbourne last year, there was a reworking of the stands, providing a better view to the general admission seats, along with being able to do more things for free while in the race area. One interesting change was an increase in engine noise. The cars were 25% louder last year. That gave the crowd the opportunity to feel and hear the decibels as they once were. Another addition was the return of the V8 Supercars that weekend, as well as the Australian GT cars.

The 2023 Formula 1 season offers another exciting year of open wheel racing. Sergio Perez continues to be a force to be reckoned with. You can bet on plenty of racing excitement whenever he is on the track. That said, he will have strong competition this year.

Another driver to keep an eye on is Max Verstappen. At just 23 years old, the Dutch driver became the youngest person in Formula 1 history to win a Grand Prix, lead a lap, and race under the Dutch flag. Max replaced his father as the most successful Dutch driver.

Here is the racing schedule for the rest of the year.
