The break marks the halfway point in the baseball season. During the three day stretch, it is the only Baseball game played in either league. The game is sure to showcase the talent of the best players from both leagues, and give us some great moments. One advantage to winning the MLB All-Star Game is home field advantage in the world series. Baseball fans know that can make a big difference in winning or losing.
As mentioned, the setting for this game will be at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. This marks the first time since 1992 that the Padres have hosted the game, and the first times in this stadium. It is only the 3rd time in history that the game has been played in San Diego. As you can imagine, the world of Baseball was quite different then. The Padres even shared a stadium with the American football team, the San Diego Chargers.
Though the San Diego Padres have many supporters, the executive chairman of the team is not one of them. In recent comments, he called the team “miserable failures”. Looking at the recent stats, it is not hard to see why such harsh words would come from the chairman’s mouth. It seems the team is playing very poorly. The Padres have had their share of good players over the years, but not any recently. No matter what though, there are die hard fans that have enjoyed watching the San Diego Padres play for generations.
This game will be televised on Fox and Fox Sports Go online. If you are inside the US, you are good to go.
