2022 Kentucky Derby Horses, Trainers, Jockeys, and Betting Odds
The Kentucky Derby is one of the oldest and most famous horse races in history. Since it’s inaugural year in 1875 when the track opened, it has always been run at Churchill Downs. The Derby is historic and considered to be one of the most important horse races in the US. It is also the first race of the Triple Crown.
Bob Baffert, the trainer of American Pharoah, has a new horse in the Kentucky Derby this year. The horse’s name is Medina Spirit but he is not the odds-on favorite to win the race. Race fans know that Baffert is an excellent trainer. When he has a favored horse in the race, he does really well in the Derby. That was certainly true a few years ago year as Justify won. His new horse is 11 to 1 but we’re not counting it out.
The odds on favorites for the 2022 Kentucky Derby include a couple horses at 5 to 1 odds. These include Essential Quality and Rock Your World. The favorite with 9 to 2 odds is Hod Rod Charlie. Most of the other horses a 20 to 1 or or worse. Life the King comes in at a 52 to 1 underdog. That would be quite a payout.
