The 2018 Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, May 5th at 6:34 PM EST at the world-famous Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Watch as the qualifying 3-year-old thoroughbreds begin the first leg of the Triple Crown. Will this year’s race find a horse to match the performance of Always Winning last year? We will find out while tuned in to the Kentucky Derby. Watch from anywhere in the world with a VPN. If you’re traveling abroad you can connect to a VPN server in the United States to avoid any geo-restrictions.
The Kentucky Derby is one of the oldest and most famous horse races in history. Since it’s inaugural year in 1875 when the track opened, it has always been run at Churchill Downs. The Derby is historic and considered to be one of the most important horse races in the US. It is also the first race of the Triple Crown.
Bob Baffert, the trainer of American Pharoah, has a new horse in the Kentucky Derby. The horse’s name is Justify and he is the odds-on favorite to win the race. Race fans know that Baffert is an excellent trainer. When he has a favored horse in the race, he does really well in the Derby.
Another horse to watch for is named Magnum Moon. Trainer Todd Pletcher is tied for the most Derby starters in history. He was also responsible for last year’s Derby winner, Always Winning. The horse is actually 4-0-0 in four starts. You can bet the thoroughbred will be gunning for the position of Kentucky Derby winner.
NBC will be televising the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. You can watch online through the NBC Sports Live Extra site. If you plan to be outside the US for the race then I would recommend using a VPN. Otherwise, NBC may block access to the stream based on the location of your IP address. A VPN will take care of that by assigning you an IP address in the United States.
