How to Watch beIN Sports Outside the Middle East

BeIN SportsOne of the major sports networks in the world is beIN sports. Though they only started broadcasting in 2011, they have made a huge impact in the community  by broadcasting in HD. The popular channel is available everywhere, but there are a few ways to get the channel. For those from the Middle East or Africa, you already have access to the premium network. If you live in the US, France, Spain, Canada, or the MENA region, you can get the service by itself. If you are traveling or live elsewhere, you would need a VPN.

Let’s take a look at a few different options to watch the channel online. If you live in one of the countries we mentioned earlier, the US, France, Spain, Canada, or the MENA region, you can buy the service directly through the website. If you live elsewhere, there are two OTT services where you can find the channel. SlingTV and FuboTV both include it in their packages. That is where using a VPN would be helpful. If you haven’t tried Sling TV yet then you can sign up for a 7 day free trial.

If you are signing up for the direct service or one of the other two services we mentioned, you will want to connect to a US server with a VPN. Then, you would need to stay connected or reconnect to watch it. We suggest using either SlingTV or FuboTV. That is because if you are not already a TV subscriber, the cost is $18 monthly. When you compare it to the cost of the other two, it makes sense to get more channels for a few dollars more.

The channel has some very strong roots. It is owned by the beIN media group, a spinoff of the Al Jazeera Television Network. Though they are still relatively new, the BeIN Sports network is not without some controversy. French radio stations declined a deal for the 2017 Wold Handball Championships over rights owned by the network. BeIN wanted to charge the stations 5 times more than the actual technical cost which constitutes hidden radio rights. Such actions are prohibited by French law.

In 2014, the network had a dispute with the English Premier League over broadcasting rights. They were accused of piracy broadcasting and some of their rights got restricted. In another incident with the French, the free market watchdog rejected a distribution deal that would have left 80% of the country’s broadcasting rights in the hands of beIN Sports and Canal+.
